Another lake weekend

We got home today from another fun weekend at Rough River!

There was a little bit of this:

And a little bit of that:
And some boating and swimming too (those pics are on my big camera, not my phone).

Everyone got a tad red, but we all had fun! Can't wait till next weekend when we get to spend an extra day there...thanks Labor Day!

Emma goes to daycare

This past week I had to send "Emma Baby" (as Gracie likes to call her) off to daycare. I thought sending the 3rd child off to daycare would be easier, but it wasn't.

Here she is before leaving home:

Here is a picture of all 3 preparing to leave...Grace will be in the 3 year old room this year. Hannah is going until her school starts this coming Wednesday.

I was able to keep myself composed until I got in the car, then I let the tears flow and bought myself a Starbucks to help me feel better.

Emma and I survived our first day away from each other...she had to learn to drink from a bottle, and I had to learn how to pump in my classroom closet...but we both managed and we are all so happy when we are back home together!

I think the most challenging thing will be getting 3 little girls dressed and out the door every morning. This past week I didn't have to be at work until a little later, so we were able to take our time, but this week will be a different story. Wish us luck!! Happy new school year!

Emma at 2 months

This sweet baby girl was 2 months old yesterday:

2 months? How is this possible? Seems like just yesterday was her "birth" day. The older I get, the faster time goes...why is that?

Anyways, we just got back from her 2 month check-up and she is getting so big! She weighed in at 10 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches long. That's up 2 pounds and 2 inches from last month. The doctor said she was in the "average" range...I've never had a baby in the average range, mine have always been small and petite. So yay for Emma! We discussed her fussiness and gassiness and he prescribed Zantac 2x's/day. This is also what Grace took around this age and it never worked for her, but I'm hopeful it'll work for Emma...only time will tell!

At 2 months old, Emma is starting to smile and make eye contact more. She has been cooing and "talking", which is just adorable. She has also rolled over three times from tummy to back...and she appeared so surprised when she did it!  She loves watching her sisters play and she also likes watching the ceiling fan (guess it resembles a giant mobile). She is a great sleeper, which makes everyone happy!

This little girl is very much loved! I'll be heartbroken when she has to go to daycare in 2 weeks :(
