Figuring it out

We teach our children to avoid strangers, to not talk to them, not to accept anything from them, and if they come close, to run away.  However, isn't Santa a stranger? It seems as though Gracie believes he is...she has only seen him a couple times and he wants her to sit on his lap?! Yikes! Scary! If Gracie is anything like her sister, she will eventually figure out this Santa business and that he brings presents, and her feelings for him may change.

Santa came to daycare this past Friday.  Hannah was so excited about him coming that she woke up at 5am ready to go to school.  Gracie on the other hand, liked him from afar.  She would wave and smile at him, but the minute she got close to him...well, you can see what happened.

Yes, I am one of those moms.  Some parents would instinctively remove their child from Santa's lap as soon as they started crying as not to traumatize them.  Not me, I don't mind Gracie crying.  If I took her off Santa's lap, how would I have gotten such a great picture?! Besides, Hannah was the exact same way...and look at her now!

Thanks Santa for dealing with screaming toddlers and excited preschoolers! We love our My Little Pony and baby doll :)

At least when you come to our house we don't have to see you!! Otherwise you might have to deal with this:
